And another one…
1. Have you ever sewn an outfit for your own doll? By hand, or by machine?
Yep, by hand and machine. As much as I hate sewing by hand, sometimes it’s just less frustrating than trying to sew small parts with the presser foot blocking most of the view. Collars are a real nightmare for this reason. XP
2. Do you prefer hand-sewn outfits, or store-bought outfits? Why?
I prefer hand-sewn because they’re usually limited in production. Maybe it’s just me…but I get this weird feeling when I see another doll wearing the same outfit as mines, even if it’s just a coincidence. ^^; Commercial outfits are great for instant gratification though.
3. Do you prefer your male or female dolls to wear underwear? Why or why not?
Mwahaha, they all go commando! For the articulated dolls, it’s really annoying when their briefs get caught in between the joints. My female dolls have undies if they’re wearing skirts, and then it’s only bloomers.
4. If you had the opportunity/luxury to do so, would you coordinate your dolls’ underwear to go with the outfit? (in terms of color, historical accuracy, how nice it looks as a whole).
Oh yeah! It would be cool to have a doll dressed up to historical accuracy, down to the elaborate undergarments..the stays, petticoats, hoops, etc.. However, on a smaller doll sometimes it’s just not practical if too much bulk is created. Petticoats are pretty much a “must have” for period dresses on my dolls (if I ever get around to making them).
5. What do you think about dolls with painted-on or molded-on underwear?
Tacky!!! Why bother censoring those parts when there’s nothing to see in the first place?
