Home again
Thursday, June 9th, 2005Got back on Sunday, then promptly got sick the next day. The chills and aches are gone but still recovering from a sore throat. I guess I won’t be attending the local BJD meet this weekend after all. Ah well. My boy’s still in pieces and I need to do more sanding…
Anyway, it was a wonderful trip overall. I LOVED San Fran; the amazing architecture, the scenery, the food. Though I would not ever want to drive there! Parking spots were scarce, and going up and down the steep hills had my heart thumping each time. I had a blast at Disneyland, which I hadn’t expected to. It’s not just for kids, but adults too. I haven’t laughed/screamed so much in ages and I daresay my mom and the “seniors” had more fun than us young ‘uns! Rides were awesome..if it weren’t for the loooong line ups, I’d have gone back to the Pirates of the Carribean a second time. That was my fave, plus the fireworks too, which were the most breathtaking I’ve seen in my life. The $53 admission fee may make a budget-minded traveler squirm, but the 14 hours of fun was totally worth it in the end.
Ah, I miss sunny Cali!! Once we returned north into Oregon, the weather abruptly became cold, wet and windy. Not much different from home. A few pics (taken with Canon Powershot A85):
San Francisco:

1) A steep street (near Coit Tower)
2) Dismembered hands and eyes (antique shop)
3) Sea lions at Pier 39. Noisy sunbathers they were.
4) Warden’s house (Alcatraz Island)
5) Statue (Palace of Fine Arts)
San Jose:
Door to Nowhere (Winchester Mystery House)
Vegas entry coming later. Time to hit the sack~~
