(Re)Introducing Ciel

Monday, March 19th, 2007

Just as I was typing this entry, there was a loud explosion outside. Turns out there is a huge fire and billowing smoke about a block away from my house. To think..there used to be a gas station around there. But we shouldn’t be in any danger. I’ll have to sate my curiosity tomorrow when I pass by there.

Anyway here she is, finally as a complete Musedoll. These pics were taken with my Canon Powershot since my brother has taken off with the DSLR for a few weeks.

A breather

Friday, March 3rd, 2006

Things have been crazy busy around here. Finally, a chance to rest a little before the cycle renews. This weekend I’ll try to find time to work on commissions.

Tuesday saw the arrival of my Musedoll Ciel head. (It actually took 3 days for EMS for once!) She is beautiful, even without a faceup. <3! A while back I said I wasn’t ready for a larger doll just yet. Yes, she’s an impulse buy but I wasn’t going to miss this chance! Now the challenge…finding a body at a price that won’t make my wallet cry…too much. Like others have observed, Musedoll’s normal skin is a tad lighter than Volks’ pureskin. Upon making a side by side comparison, Ciel is a very close match with Souldoll’s resin, as both have similar peachy undertones. Hmmmmm. My options now include SD10 pureskin, SD13 or Souldoll body. I’m leaning more towards a Volks’ body simply because their sculpts appeal to me more. I’d love to get her a SD13 body for the jointed torso but the price range will strain my budget. >_< Yahoo! Japan auctions beckon stronger than ever. Once bitten, will there be no turning back..?

Happy New Year!

I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season. ^-^ Mine’s was ok…I was sick for a while and then things got busy around Christmas. I don’t think I’ve eaten so much in a long time..it probably didn’t help that I was in the mood for baking so there was always sweets around the house. >XD

I’ve been working on dolls as well…commissions and two gals headed for ebay soon. And Katie finally has a proper dress, yay! It felt good to be sewing pieces that are actually bigger than one’s palm. When I see people complaining about the pains of sewing for MSD-size dolls, I gotta shake my head in disbelief. Just try 1/6th or smaller and you’ll see. ^^;

Anyway, I’m gonna be upgrading my blog soon-ish. After many months of being happily spam-free, it’s starting to happen again. Plus, rebuilding is becoming a pain. No more resistance..MT3.x, here I come. :P
